Yes, all 3 network adapters need to be in the same subnet. So you can leave the host-adapter as it is and set a static IP of 192.168.227.X to your Server 2008. The range from 192.168.227.3 - 127 can be used for static ip. 128-254 is the default VMware DHCP range, .1 is the host adapter and .2 is the NAT device.

 

so 192.168.227.3 for your Windows Server 2008 would be ok :-)

 

You could also change the subnet of the NAT, but that's more complicated than assigning your Server 2008 a suitable IP.
