Hello,
I'm just dropping this here in case it might help someone out. We had a requirement to set up VDI and a 2 way trust was impossible due to security requirements. Here is the configuration we ended up with and it works wonderfully for our needs. I have not had a single problem. View has full access to Domain B AD so no glitches there, quick prep works, linked clones work, persona works. I I have not found a single thing that does not work. If I want to have VDI workstations for Domain A also, I'd just set up another connection and composer server for Domain A and have them separated.
Domain A is where the virtual environment resides. We want users in that domain to have access to VDI workstations in Domain B
Domain B gets a connection and composer server joined to domain B but with a network connection in both domains. View just gets configured with the vcenter server IP in Domain A.
My original configuration had everything joined to domain A and yes, there were problems accessing Domain B AD, quickprep didn't work, and domain joining of VDI workstations during deployment was unreliable. But this config works great.
Cheers
