Our testing server has 5 VMs on a single sata hard drive and we are running in some performance issues. I have done some measures in vsphere client and esxtop, however I cannot find a VM that is consuming all the disk iops.
Disk measurements esxtop:
Disk DAVG and KAVG metrics are high (~1200ms - ~3000ms), however cmds remains low (~2) .
Statistics from each VM are most of the time idle
Disk measumente vsphere client:
Average write request is 35 which is far from the iops of a regular sata drive..
Average read request is 3
I am wondering if performance issues are just related to the "over provisioned" server or should I check for any disk problems (smart parameters are attached)?
