Seems your port binding configuration is set-up correct and its complaint as well. Seems that the VMNIC6 might have a cabling or worst case the NIC itself could be gone bad,
you could try swapping the NIC ports with a new set of cables and see if the problem is same.? you could also try to update the NIC drivers.
